Colson Kelly (aka Machine Gun Kelly) is a rap musician with a distinct style. Baker was born in Houston, TX U.S. on 22nd April 1990, to parents of English Scottish German descent. His parents, who were two missionaries at the time, took him to numerous trips throughout his childhood years. James Colson Baker battled depression and unemployment, and his Mother Sonia Alane dumped him at the age of nine. Baker's father moved together with Baker to Denver and the family lived at the home of his aunt. Baker had to endure bullying from fellow kids because of his poverty. As a sixth-grader, he started listening to rap. Colson Kelly was born as Machine Gun Kelly on April 22, 1989, in Texas. With his music, he is well known for mixing modern hip-hop styles with rock. Baker has recorded four mixtapes during the years from 2007 to 2010, prior to signing with Bad Boy Records. The Cleveland rapper, who wrote lyrics at the pace of a speeding bullet experienced an explosive growth when at the end of 2011, Baker moved from self-released mixtapes to established labels. In the following years, each album of his charted at number 10.
